Carlos HZ is a classically untrained artist whose body of work includes a critically acclaimed series of stick figures, an extensive portfolio of loop-da-loops executed in the margins of meeting notes, and several deeply personal snowflakes cut from folded paper during the winter of 2019.
His stick figures are widely regarded as expressive, if anatomically unconventional. His loop-da-loops demonstrate a fluency with circular motion that lesser artists can only dream of. And his snowflakes. No two are alike. That's just science.
Carlos is honored to be included in this gallery alongside artists who can draw things that are recognizably things. He is available for commissions, provided the subject matter can be rendered in exactly five lines, squiggly… or cut of paper… in snowflake form.

“Precision has always been a fascination. My works are created entirely from memory, which is unfortunate, because my memory of what a human body looks like is apparently a circle on top with five lines coming out of it.
Through my process I develop original interpretations of the world around me. By simplifying and reducing, I can showcase the essential truth of any subject — that at its core, everything can be expressed in five lines or fewer. My loop-da-loops demonstrate a mastery of the continuous curve. My snowflakes contain multitudes.
So, as you can no doubt tell, I am an artist. Maybe? Probably... Yes, probably.”
