Tracy Sherdahl
“I make impressionist paintings of birds, animals, landscapes and flowers primarily in acrylic, oil and mixed media. I like peaceful subjects that capture a fleeting moment. These matter to me because life seems so short and I want to focus on what I love while I’m here. I marvel at the color and structure of a flower, the graceful way that light illuminates and sculpts a landscape and the charming uniqueness of each bird or animal. I frequent natural parks with my camera, sketchbook and painting gear to find inspiration. After preparatory sketches and paintings outdoors, I will return to these images to create refined compositions in my home studio. I hope to inspire others to appreciate the inherent beauty of the natural world and the power that each fond memory has to uplift the spirit. ”
