Corrie Buwalda developed an appreciation for drawing and painting at an early age and acquired a serious interest in art while in high school.  In 1968 she enrolled in the “Art Instruction School” in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for commercial art and graduated in 1970.  She has also attended various art classes, at the University of Calgary.

Being raised in the Calgary area, Corrie has developed a fond interest in horses, dogs and wildlife, as well as being inspired by the detail in nature, which is reflected in her paintings and drawings. By creating a piece of art, of the world around us, Corrie has a vision that evokes a similar emotion to the viewer.

Corrie is a member of the Calgary Sketch Club and has participated in shows at Spruce Meadows, Calgary Stampede Western Art Auction and the Leighton Centre. She has also received numerous awards for her work and accomplishments. Corrie has commissioned work in Europe, USA and Canada
