am a watercolour painter. I believe that the watercolour medium chose me.

I vividly remember as a small boy in Scotland I was fascinated by the watercolour paintings in my children’s books. I was always drawing from an early age, but I did not attempt a watercolour painting until I was almost 50 years old. But , when I did I immediately knew that this medium suited my personality, as it allowed me to paint very quickly and express my feelings for the subject.I share my passion for this wonderful medium and knowledge others.

I have done many demos and workshops over the years and I’m always thrilled when people are inspired to try painting watercolours.

Precision has always been a fascination. My works are created entirely from memory, which is unfortunate, because my memory of what a human body looks like is apparently a circle on top with five lines coming out of it.

Through my process I develop original interpretations of the world around me. By simplifying and reducing, I can showcase the essential truth of any subject — that at its core, everything can be expressed in five lines or fewer. My loop-da-loops demonstrate a mastery of the continuous curve. My snowflakes contain multitudes.

So, as you can no doubt tell, I am an artist. Maybe? Probably... Yes, probably.
