After years of thinking “some day” I stated painting about 10 years ago, taking classes with a terrific group. I started out painting pet portraits – I’m allergic, and can’t have my own pet, so started with my grand dog and went from there. So far, I’ve done dogs, cats, horses, a rabbit and a bird! I have also done a series of baby animal paintings for my 4 granddaughters!
In the last few year, I’ve started working on and exploring pieces other than pets – landscapes, abstracts etc. I work primarily in oil but have started branching out into watercolour and pleine aire.
I’m a native Calgarian and, in my other life, I do bookkeeping and company management for small businesses.

“Precision has always been a fascination. My works are created entirely from memory, which is unfortunate, because my memory of what a human body looks like is apparently a circle on top with five lines coming out of it.
Through my process I develop original interpretations of the world around me. By simplifying and reducing, I can showcase the essential truth of any subject — that at its core, everything can be expressed in five lines or fewer. My loop-da-loops demonstrate a mastery of the continuous curve. My snowflakes contain multitudes.
So, as you can no doubt tell, I am an artist. Maybe? Probably... Yes, probably.”
