I am an Alberta born artist who has painted the diverse beauty of this province for the last 40 years. The mountains to the west are a natural draw for me and there is plenty of interesting material in the Calgary area. Many of the scenes I paint are from Nose Hill Park, Fish Creek Park and Pierce Estates Park right in Calgary. I also like to capture the everyday activities of people in an urban setting. As an active member of the Calgary Sketch Club, I have attended workshops by such wellknown Alberta artists as Alice Helwig, Rex Beanland, Brent Laycock and Rick Berg. I am heavily influenced by the work and teaching of Margaret Shelton as well as the work of Tom Thompson.
