PLEIN AIR CAMPS

Art in the Open Air

— PLEIN AIR

Calgary’s Oldest Art Club has been painting in the wild since 1909

A woman painting outdoors near a lake with sailboats docked, flowers and greenery in the foreground, and city buildings in the background.

There is something about painting outside that no studio can replicate. The changing light, the honest air, the company of fellow artists who chose to be somewhere beautiful instead of somewhere comfortable.

CSPC has a rich plein air tradition stretching back to our founding year. Whether it's an afternoon in a local park, a day trip to the foothills, or an overnight adventure in the Rockies, our plein air outings bring members together in the landscape that inspires us most.

Plein Air at CSPC is member-driven. Any active member can organize an outing, a local park, a working farm, a mountain day trip, or something more ambitious. If you have a location and a date, we'll help spread the word.

Send your time, location, and any details to cspccalgary@gmail.com and our marketing volunteer will help mobilize the community.

Organize your own outing.
