ARTIST BIO
Cristine has always valued the gift of creativity, and ever since her junior high school art teacher gave her the book 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain', she began her endless art journey of learning. She has been a professional in IT as a career and has painted in her spare time as an expression of creativity and a stress release. In 2015 she joined From the Easel art group and in 2022 she joined the Calgary Sketch Club. She teaches occasional workshops with resin products and recently has taught dutch pour classes. Her two grown children embed creatively in their lives: her daughter has a macrame, crochet side hustle with shows at farmers markets in Airdrie, and her son is a professional animator working for WildBrain studios on the Netflix’s cartoon, Ninjago. She resides in Calgary with her husband and her AussieDoodle, Willow.

— ARTISTS STATEMENT
My paintings really reflect who I am – I can be detailed and focused, and sometimes I am a little more loose and light. I can reflect realism in my art, and I will also indulge in abstract and fantasy art. I love bright colors and textures, layers on layers to build up and give depth to a piece. I am an analyst, a storyteller, and an adventurist. When painting I seek beauty in the world and that keeps me in a constant state of curiosity and awe. My choice of tools depends on my mood, and I will use oils, inks, watercolor, acrylic, pastels, drywall, and resin
